Programming, curation and management

Guilherme Vilhena Martins (1996, Lisbon; lives in Berlin) has a degree in Philosophy from NOVA University of Lisbon and is currently doing an MA in Philosophy with focus in Aesthetics at the FU Berlin. His literary work consists of Háptica, his first book of poems, published in 2020, and many texts, chronicles and critiques written for different independent projects in Portugal. Both his philosophical interest and his creative work ground on the same problems and ideas, namely the concept of fiction and the borders of fictionality when it comes to experience narratives and utter meaning, as well as the notion of fictional indeterminacy and desire.

Luzia Cruz (1997, Lisbon; lives in Hamburg) is a visual artist, curator and graphic designer based between Berlin and Hamburg. Her work focusses on the fragility of social mechanisms in technological development, in tension with the extraction of natural resources. This relationship proposes the construction of a space of threat, which Luzia explores plastically in ways of accelerating degradation processes on various materials. She is pursuing a master's degree in sculpture at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Hamburg and is a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation scholarship holder.

Production

Catarina Monteiro (1998, Lisbon; lives in Lisbon) has a degree in Sculpture completed at Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa, lived in Germany, and studied at the Hoschule für bildende Künste Hamburg, mentored by the photographer Thomas Demand. After returning to Portugal she decided to develop her curiosity for cinema and started a post-graduation in Visual Studies: Photography and Post-Cinema, at the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2021 Catarina won the 1st Prize in Fine Arts in the national contest of Jovens Criadores of the Juventude Foundation and in the same year she collaborated with the film festival LEFFEST - Lisbon & Sintra Film Festival, where she started in film production. In 2022 she worked, in several productions, in the production and art departments in advertising cinema, along with the personal projects that she continues to develop.

Design

João Rosa Narciso (1996, Lisbon) lives and works between Lisbon and Rio Maior, where besides a regular artistic practice, he also develops an editorial project under the name BARRIGA. He studied Graphic Communication at the University for the Creative Arts between 2016 and 2019, and continues to use his graphic knowledge on a freelance basis with obvious preference for the cultural environment, as is the case of EGEU. His artistic practice is based on the free exercise of poetic drawing that extends to the most varied fields, from the real to the oneiric. His interest in music as an exploratory practice adds to his visual work another immaterial layer that noisily bewitches the drawing.
